To design an orbital sander for assisting auto body mechanics. Many users prefer a sanding block in certain circumstances, but in return, lose efficiency. This design reimagines the orbital sander, making it the tool to reach for first.

Caliber Collision
Caliber Collision repairs cars caused by accidents. This includes repairs from internal mechanics to body work. Every worker is required to be trained for about a year and earn a certificate.
Aaron has been a mechanic at Caliber Collision for 3 years. His main task is repairing dents on cars.
Interview with Aaron
He walked us through the process of sanding filler down from the car. He seemed to favor the sanding block and the Festool orbital sander.
The sanders and sanding blocks that he uses are all corded and attached to vacuums.
